AXE THROWING HISTORY
Let’s get back to the basics for fun! Axe throwing actually originated in logging camps where loggers would throw their axe ahead to the next tree so they wouldn’t have to lug all their gear. Then the fun started, those long nights in the logging camps they nailed the butt end of a stump to a tree and flung away stress throwing axes in friendly evening competitions. This was the ultimate in entertainment before we had reality TV.
Traditional axe throwing uses a double bitted axe weighting between 2-5lbs, with a 18-24” straight handle. The thrower stands 20ft from the target and throws at a bulls-eye 5ft off the ground. Each competitor would get one practice throw and then three throws for points, where the bulls-eye is worth 5 points and each consecutive ring is 4,3,2 and 1 point on the perimeter.
Axehole offers gift certificates in all denominations, and they never expire!
